TOURISM IS COMING TO CUPRA!
When travel became fashionable
At the end of the 19th century, when travel became a cherished pastime among affluent Italian families, they began to discover the unspoilt beaches of Le Marche for their summer retreats. Cupra Marittima soon blossomed into a refined and much-loved seaside resort. In the early 20th century, the first hotels, guesthouses and holiday homes appeared along the shore, laying the foundations for a flourishing tourism tradition. After the Second World War, growing prosperity allowed more families to enjoy holidays by the sea, inspiring new hotels and infrastructure.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Cupra established itself as a relaxed, family-friendly destination with beautifully maintained beaches and promenades. Today, the town gracefully combines its traditional character with contemporary coastal tourism, increasingly embracing sustainable and nature-oriented experiences.
